Bleek has confirmed that the books Norris had printed and sent to Bleek have arrived, though he worries about their quality, lacking Bleek's oversight and linguistic expertise. He is sending additional books, some of Bleek's Philological Society papers, and a letter from F.J. Furnivall. Apologising for his rushed handwriting due to heavy workload, Norris updates Bleek on friends, including Georg Sauerwein, now in Wales speaking "native" Welsh. He jokes that Bleek must now speak "Cafir" or "Hottentot" and urges him to master the clicks and share his imitations. He closes by asking Bleek to write about his research and the native people, and says he looks forward to hearing more.
