A letter from Edwin Norris to Wilhelm Bleek, dated 4 December 1862 and sent from the Foreign Office. Norris confirms he has sent the £10 owed for Bleek's "Grammar" to Bonn, where his mother Auguste Bleek signed the receipt. Following Bleek's instructions, he gave bound copies to Lord Russell, Layard (whom should be thanked for helping with subscriptions) and Lord Strangford - whom he praises as England's best philologist. Norris kept the fourth copy for himself though doubts he will use it much due to his workload and "increasing laziness". He describes his ongoing Assyrian work, especially the value of bilingual tablets and duplicate inscriptions - over 60 sheets of bilingual lists have been printed. He ends by apologising for his "troublesome" handwriting, caused by general huriedness.
