Summary

A letter from Edwin Norris to Wilhelm Bleek, dated 30 December 1864 and sent from the Foreign Office. Norris apologises for his delay in writing, blaming age and procrastination. He thanks Bleek for the newspaper about the Bishop of Natal case, noting it is largely forgotten in London - little stirs public interest in such a large city. He forwards a book via the Colonial Office bag and asks Bleek to use the same method for future correspondence. Norris inquires about Bleek's grammatical work, of which he has heard nothing, and asks him to send future parts via the contact named in his 1 November 1862 letter, as he expects to leave the Foreign Office soon - being seventy and "not very fit for work". He ends by saying he must send off the Efik dictionary.
