Correspondence
A letter from farmer RP Malan to Dorothea Bleek, from Montecristo in the mountainous 24 Rivers region near the Olifant's River mountains. Malan reports on whether they have found any (more) rock paintings in the region of their farm (it reads as though Dorothea saw some in a cave in the kloof at the farm). They have not, but he describes the location of a more significant cave as far East as the Olifant's River. He expresses an interest in "dead languages of deteriorated tribes", the forgotten past and evolution, etc., and would welcome another visit by her to Montecristo.
