Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Lucy Lloyd, from Cape Town and dated 10 September, 1863. Wilhelm informs Lucy of the birth of his and Jemima's first child, Edith, and provides details of the health and appearance of the baby as well as Jemima's recovery. He comments on his interactions with Lucy's half-sisters Nellie and Bella, who are staying with them. Wilhelm worries that Lucy is over-exerting herself organising Willie's schooling and providing for her other young half-siblings (named as Willie, Charlie, Tiny, Ettie, Susy). He also remarks on the Bishop of Natal's case, after receiving a letter from him, and comments on numerous other letters and news from Jemima's and his own family and friends.
