Summary

A letter from Edith Bleek to her aunts "Tib" and "Doods" (nicknames given to two of Jemima Bleek's sisters, probably Fanny and Lucy Lloyd) from Bonn, dated 28 June 1886. Edith describes the previous week, which included her sister Margie's birthday party on the Wednesday and her Tante Gustchen's birthday on the Saturday. She describes the latter in detail, including the names of party guests (including family) and visitors throughout the day (up to 20 people at every meal); also the putting on of a "musical surprise" for Tante Gustchen featuring all of the children playing instruments and other people singing.
