A letter to Lucy Lloyd from the Vice Chancellor of the University of the Cape of Good Hope, Thomas Walker, dated 30 January 1913. Walker is pleased that Lloyd has accepted the Council's offer of an Honorary Doctorate. He informs Lloyd that the previous year the Cape Times introduced portraits of the Honorary Graduates in its report on the Degree Day ceremony and asks if she has a portrait available to forward to him for the Cape Times - but assures her she is free to refuse the request.
