A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Lucy Lloyd, from Cape Town and dated 9 October 1863. Wilhelm reports on baby Edith's health and development and refers to "approval or disapproval" concerning Nellie's staying with them. He describes various recent visitors and Jemima's improved health as well as some of the family's daily activities. The letter contains a brief postscript from Jemima thanking her "darlings" for their letters, responding to news of Lucy's improved health, and reporting her own improved strength and busyness with baby.
