L1.32 from WHI Bleek to LC Lloyd (23 June 1869)
Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Lucy Lloyd, sent from London and dated 23 June, 1869. Wilhelm describes his and Jemima's travels and visits in England, including the time spent with her uncles Henry and Marmaduke and Aunt Charlotte. He refers to something difficult he is trying to get people interested in and lists some of the supportive parties, including numerous influential names. In response to Lucy's letter he is supportive of the way she dealt with the "business with Sanderson" and grateful for the details she sent him. He sends Lucy family news from his home and of his cousin Ernst Haeckel's latest discoveries. He also mentions visiting Sir George Grey.
