Correspondence
A letter from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, sent from Christleton Rectory near Chester on 4 July 1861. Jemima has received Wilhelm's long letter full of news, and regrets not replying sooner due to exhaustion from constant travel, ill health and anxiety. She describes the many people she owes letters to. She wishes she were able to ask more about his views on interesting subjects, and wishes they could discuss them in person. She updates him on her health, Dr Russell's reassurances and her hopes for recovery and return to the Cape. She reflects on her time in England, gives her impressions of those she has met and documents her many family visits. She inquires about Wilhelm's health and work while expressing appreciation for his friendship and comforting letters. She signs off as "Jemmie".
