This page is numbered '1' in pencil. Typewritten caption reads: 'Colours: Black except jackal which is red with black markings. Reduced to 1/7. Locality: Rockshilter [sic] at Rietpoort on old high road from Tarka to Cradock seven miles from Tarkastad. Seen. The black figures are on different portions of the rock; the red has vanished.
