The reverse side of page 2, with 'Sir G. Strachan' (sic) written in the top margin with blue coloured pencil. It is unlikely that this inscription refers to either 'Strachan', members of a twentieth-century Nova Scotian baronetcy, or a person or persons named 'Strahan', perhaps instead alluding to Sir George Cumine Strahan (1838-1887), a British military officer and colonial administrator briefly made acting High Commissioner for Southern Africa (1880-1881).
