Notes
The twenty-four stories adapted from the Bleek-Lloyd Archive are exclusively from the |xam texts. Dorothea attempts to make the material more relatable to her readership with decisions like renaming (or 'translating' [substituting]) '!gwe:-!kweitən-tu' to 'will-o'-the-wisp' -- an entity from European folklore, particularly the British Isles. In this work, her treatment of her predecessors' 'Bushman researches' is less pure or scholarly, being a more informal work by design.
